A lot of couples have succeeded in rebuilding the relationship, but not after a few bumps in the road. If you are in this situation right now, of finding a way in rebuilding the relationship with your partner who has had an extramarital affair, the following are some things that you have to avoid in order to give your relationship the best chance it can get.

?1. Avoid trying to find something you have in common and making it the core basis for why you are staying together. Having one or even several things in common is not what makes a relationship. While it is important for you and your partner to be compatible on a certain level, being different and having individual interests is good even at a crucial time like rebuilding the relationship, and maybe through these differences, you can create or discover a new kind of passion that both of you will be happy to explore together.

2. Do not ignore your current issues or the problems that were already there before and during the infidelity, whether individually or as a couple, and throw them in the past. Take this opportunity to really look at these issues, talk about them, and try to find a way to break through them.

You will never be able to move forward in your attempts at rebuilding the relationship if you are holding on to past problems and grudges. Bring them out in the open and get through them, so that you when you start over, you can do it with a clean slate.

3. Never forget the progress you?ve made. Most couples, in the middle of rebuilding the relationship, revert to their old ways once they begin to feel comfortable again, and forget the changes they have implemented. The way you communicate, how you think, the patterns of how your relationship used to be usually eventually come back to the surface and become the norm once again. This isn?t necessarily a bad thing, but you have to make sure that the negative patterns and issues don?t resurface along with the positive ones.

Yes, rebuilding the relationship after infidelity is difficult and creating a new dynamic between the two of you will most definitely prove to be a challenge, but if you feel that there is still something there worth fighting for, then you should fight for it.

Quebec college to remain closed after tense standoff

Tuesday's tense standoff at Coll?ge Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Th?r?se, Que., has forced college administrators to give up on plans to reopen the school for a handful of students for the time being ? and possibly for the remainder of the week.

Early Tuesday morning, provincial police tactical officers moved in on a group of students, teachers and parents blocking the school's entrance.

The protest was declared illegal at around 8:30 a.m. ET, and protesters were told to disperse.

Authorities were trying to enforce a court injunction allowing some 50 students to return to class. Similar scenes have played out at colleges across Quebec in the past few weeks.

The tactical officers began moving in on the group just after 9 a.m., pulling people out from the mass of demonstrators. Tear gas was also fired.

Five males, aged 17 to 41, were arrested. Provincial police later confirmed they face charges of mischief for blocking access to the building.

Students flashed peace signs at officers as the group was forced from the entrance, and pushed back across the property by the advancing line of police.

Blasted with chemical irritants, some of the protesters hugged and wept.

"It's easy to repress," screamed one of the last remaining protesters, taunting the row of riot police guarding the school.

"In 30 years they'll be saying you were a disgrace! You were a disgrace!

"People will say we were repressed!... [You were] hitting people with billy clubs, gassing young people."

Parents of some of the students watched on in tears as the officers, dressed in heavy tactical gear, moved toward the campus.

Sebastien Fontaine, who attends Lionel-Groulx and supports the students' right to study, said he was disappointed with the Tuesday morning confrontation.

"It's not something you look forward to seeing," he said, adding the security was necessary given the building tension.

"I don't blame them for coming in. I mean, both of them have a part of truth, but you can't really establish who is right and who is wrong. It's all part of a debate, people have different values. You can't really just decide who is right and who is wrong."

Traffic disrupted in another protest

Earlier in the morning, demonstrators briefly blocked the Jacques Cartier Bridge in Montreal, temporarily disrupting traffic.

Montreal police moved in quickly, chasing some of the demonstrators through a nearby park before making 19 arrests.

Another group of about 200 protesters tried to get into a Power Corporation of Canada meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Montreal before riot police pushed them back.

Many of the protesters wore masks and red squares, the symbol of the student movement, and chanted anti-police and anti-capitalist slogans as they continued their march through the city's core.

The latest protests come a day after Quebec's education minister resigned and another member of Premier Jean Charest's cabinet stepped in to take her place.

Treasury board chair Michelle Courchesne is taking over the hot file, including talks with student groups that began protests over university tuition hikes 14 weeks ago.

Courchesne is expected to meet with student groups and school administrators Tuesday night.

'Monster sunspot' may foretell powerful solar flares, says NASA

A huge sunspot spanning more than 60,000 miles could erupt, sending high energy radiation into space.

An enormous sunspot group has taken shape on the surface of the sun, hinting that our star may soon start spouting off some powerful storms.

The huge sunspot complex, known as AR 1476, rotated into Earth's view over the weekend. It measures more than 60,000 miles (100,000 kilometers) across, researchers said. Scientists with NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory mission, a space-based telescope watching the sun, dubbed the solar structure a "monster sunspot" in a Twitter announcement.

AR 1476 is big enough for amateur astronomers with decent equipment to spot from their backyards, weather permitting. (Warning:?Never look at the sun directly with telescopes or the unaided eye. Special filters are required for safe solar viewing to avoid serious eye damage.)?

"With at least four dark cores larger than Earth, AR 1476 sprawls more than 100,000 km from end to end, and makes an easy target for backyard solar telescopes," the website Spaceweather.com reported Monday (May 7).

Sunspots are temporary dark patches on the surface of the sun that are caused by intense magnetic activity. These structures sometimes erupt into?solar flares, which send high-energy radiation streaming into space.

Solar physicists classify flares into three main categories: C, M and X, with C being the least powerful and X the strongest. X-class flares can cause long-lasting radiation storms in Earth's upper atmosphere and trigger radio blackouts. M-class flares can cause brief radio blackouts in the polar regions and occasional minor radiation storms, while C flares have few noticeable consequences.

AR 1476 has already proven quite active, firing off a number of C flares?over the past few days. And another sunspot group, AR 1471, erupted Monday evening with one that seems?to be an M1, one of the least powerful M flares, according to Spaceweather.com.

Big solar flares are often associated with coronal mass ejections (CMEs), massive clouds of solar plasma that streak through space at 3 million mph (5 million kph) or more.?If these clouds hit Earth, they can wreak havoc, spawning geomagnetic storms that can disrupt GPS signals, radio communications and power grids. CMEs also often super-charge the northern and southern lights, providing dazzling shows for skywatchers at high latitudes.

Monday evening's eruption from AR 1471 apparently generated an Earth-directed CME, which should hit Earth sometime Wednesday morning (May 9) Eastern time, researchers said.?

After remaining surprisingly quiet from 2005 through 2010, our star began waking up last year, spouting off numerous powerful flares and CMEs.

Most experts expect such outbursts to continue over the next year or so. Solar activity waxes and wanes on an 11-year cycle, and scientists think the current one ? known as Solar Cycle 24 ? will peak in 2013.

Birdman Will Do 'Whatever It Takes' To Sign Chief Keef

'The game needs young blood all the time,' Birdman tells MTV News of courting the 16-year-old rapper for his Cash Money label.

Chicago rapper Chief Keef has already built a solid following in the Midwest, but Kanye West gave him a national platform when he decided to remix the 16-year-old's hit "I' Don't Like" for G.O.O.D. Music. Still, a co-sign from 'Ye is only the beginning, as Keef is now being courted by Birdman and Cash Money Records.

On the same night Kanye West tweeted that he would be remixing Keef's single "I Don't Like," the Chi-town rapper tweeted that he was fielding calls from several parties interested in signing him, including Birdman. "Birdman Just Called He Say He Wanna Sign Me Wit #CMB," he wrote in April.

And during Wednesday's episode of "RapFix Live," Birdman revealed that he is, in fact, working on adding Chief Keef to the ever-expanding roster at Cash Money. "I like him, he kinda reminds me of us," Birdman told host Sway Calloway, referencing his all-star YMCMB team. "[He's] out the streets, I think he's swagged up and I'm definitely talking to his people and I'd like to see if we can make it pop, see if I can see if I can get him to be down with the team."

Birdman noted that one of the things he admires about Chief Keef is that he already has his own devoted crew. "That's what I like, it's a movement and he's young, I think the game needs young blood all the time," he explained. "[We] need youngsters to keep it innovative, because they're new and creative in their own way. I'm into the young world, that's my thing. And I'ma do whatever it takes to make it happen."

Kanye West's "I Don't Like" remix dropped this week with verses from Chief Keef, Pusha T, Jadakiss and Big Sean. Things are about to get very interesting for the upstart rapper.
